Sunday, June 30 marked the 43rd annual San Francisco Pride Celebration and our sixth consecutive year as the “Official Domestic Airline of San Francisco Pride.” To celebrate, over 200 Virgin America teammates, friends and family participated in the parade down Market Street and as you can imagine, there was even more to be proud of at this year’s event. Across the globe, many major cities have an event to celebrate the rich diversity of the LGBT community but with over 200 parade contingents, 300 exhibitors and more than 20 stages and venues, San Francisco’s Pride is the largest (and most fabulous) in the nation.
Drag superstars Willam, Detox and Vicky Vox – the first two of whom have already been featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race – looked flawless (per usual) and helped spread this year’s “Fly Empowered” theme with their signature irreverent style.
Not to be outdone, our teammates prepared a choreographed a Gatsby-esque dance routine to show off their skills.
And what Virgin America event would be complete without providing parade participants the chance to strike a pose, show their #VXpride and be included in our Facebook album.
