Mile-High Munchies

It’s wintertime, and you know what that means? New Virgin America seasonal menus onboard all of our flights!

All of our menus are crafted using an assortment of sustainable and fresh ingredients, local fruits and vegetables, premium meats, and artisan breads.  Our latest update includes a refreshed “Travel Light” menu (to combat those holiday cookies), new specialty cocktail selections, and even a gluten-free snack.  For our littlest travelers, we offer peanut butter and jam half-sandwiches served with fruit snacks and the popular “Jet Set Kid Pack” menu option, which includes dolphin-shaped headphones for your little early adopters to use while they show you how to use our industry-leading Red™ in-flight entertainment system!

To help you navigate our menu, I’ve put together Sean’s Completely Unofficial In-Flight Menu Pairings:

Breakfast:

Hail Merry Granola with Fresh Fruit and Yogurt: This delicious gluten free and vegan granola is served with fresh pineapple, red seedless grapes, and strawberries with fruit yogurt on the side.
Philz Coffee: Available both with and without Bailey’s Irish Cream.  

Lunch:

Tuna Nicoise Salad: Our friends at Gilt Taste gave this classic salad a lighter spin with thin French green beans, flaked albacore tuna, potatoes, tomatoes, hard boiled cage-free eggs, and pitted kalamata olives, served over crisp Romaine and mesclun lettuce with a balsamic and olive oil dressing on the side.
Water: Gotta stay hydrated!

Dinner:

Roast Beef Romesco Sandwich:Roast beef on a basil and cheese focaccia roll with Romesco spread, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and provolone cheese, exclusively by Gilt Taste. Served with a Tcho Chocolate for dessert.
The Cosmopolitan: Absolute Vodka, Cranapple juice, a squeeze of lime, and a lot of style.

If you’re one of our First Class guests, you’ll also enjoy a selection of new meals including a yellow beet and citrus salad, followed by a char-grilled Wagyu beef burger served with a side of warm German style potato salad, and finished with L’Artisan French macarons.  Feel free to pause while you wipe the drool from your keyboard.
