The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented a new program called Secure Flight to enhance the security of commercial air travel. Under the Secure Flight program, airline passengers will be required to provide their full name, date of birth, gender, and Redress Number (if available) when making airline reservations.
Secure Flight offers an improved redress process through the Department of Homeland Security Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (DHS TRIP). WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Secure Flight will prevent future misidentifications of passengers who may have a name that’s similar to an individual on the watch list. Guests can find more information and apply for redress at www.dhs.gov/trip.
How will this affect you?
When you purchase a reservation on virginamerica.com, you will need to provide the following information:
Full Name (first name, middle name and last name, as it appears on the non-expired government-issued photo ID that you will use when traveling)
Date of Birth
Gender
Redress Number (if applicable – a TSA provided number for personal identification for those persons who have gone through the TSA redress process)
Do you already have a reservation?
If so, its no problem. Just log in below using either your last name and confirmation code or if you are an Elevate member you can add it to all your existing reservations.
