Puerto Vallarta Travel Advisory

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Due to the forecasted impact of Hurricane Bud May 25-27, 2012, Virgin America is anticipating probable flight delays and cancellations for Puerto Vallarta flights. All travelers headed to or departing from Lic. Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) are strongly encouraged to remain up-to-date on their flight status before leaving for the airport by checking www.virginamerica.com and/or signing up for Virgin America Flight Alerts.

In addition, Virgin America is encouraging travelers headed to or leaving from PVR to take advantage of the airline’s current travel waiver. Guests with confirmed flights departing to or originating from PVR from May 25 - 27, 2012, may change their travel date without paying change fees or the difference in fares for travel through May 31, 2012.*  Guests flying on the above dates who have flexible travel plans and wish to avoid possible weather-related delays, may contact Virgin America to change their plans between the same cities. Changes must be made prior to originally scheduled departure time and original travel must have been booked on or before May 25, 2012. Enhanced Security Procedures Require All Elevate Members to Create a New Password

Thursday, April 26, 2012

Virgin America has added new security features to better protect your Elevate password and account information.  To implement this process, Elevate members who have not already changed their passwords (on or after April 26) will not be able to sign into their Elevate accounts on virginamerica.com until they change their password.  When signing in for the first time since this update, Elevate members will be prompted to enter their email addresses.  They will then receive an email from Virgin America with more information on how they can reset their existing password to a new one with at least eight characters.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we enhance the security of our systems.  Should you have questions, please call us between the hours of 3:30am PT-11:30pm PT at 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN*.  Or visit our password change FAQ.

New Full Fare Advertising

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

This month, the Department of Transportation?s Passenger Protection Regulations go into effect for all airlines. Although a few of these regulations (like the ability to cancel a reservation within 24 hours without penalty) have been long-standing policies at Virgin America, guests may see a few changes in regards to how we communicate flight status changes and how refunds for baggage fees and optional service fees are implemented. Additionally, on January 26, 2012, we will also change the way that we advertise fares to include all government-imposed taxes and mandatory fees in the displayed fare. Essentially, all government-imposed taxes and mandatory fees will be included into the quoted fare displayed on our web site.
