Land 50,000 status points, and you’ll take your membership to the highest level: Elevate Gold Status.Each day, we’ll check your eligibility for Elevate Gold Status based on the number of status points you earned over the last calendar year, and as soon as you earn 50,000 Elevate status points, you’re golden. So, if you earn 50,000 status points on October 1, 2012, you’ll keep your Elevate Gold Status through February 28, 2014.
How to keep Elevate Gold Status:
After your first full year of Elevate Gold Status, you’ll need to earn 50,000 Elevate status points by December 31 each year to renew your benefits. If you earn fewer than 50,000 Elevate status points in a calendar year, no worries. We’ll just renew your Elevate membership in Silver Status.

*Qualifying status points: Each year, Virgin America Visa cardholders will earn bonus status points if $25,000 in eligible purchases have been made using the credit card during the applicable year. Cardmembers that have an annual fee will earn a 10,000 status points (provided the annual fee has been paid) and Virgin America Visa cardholders not paying an annual fee will earn 5,000 status points. Each year will be measured based on billing cycle end dates beginning in January and ending in December of the applicable year, regardless of account open date. Any eligible purchases made after the December billing cycle end date will be applied to toward the next year’s status point earnings.
