Virgin America Presents Fresh Menu Options For The New Year

California Carrier Introduces Fresh New Menu via Touch-screen Seatback Food Ordering System

San Francisco — January 19, 2008 — Virgin America, the only U.S. carrier with a touch-screen seatback food ordering system, today unveiled a new menu with a variety of healthy and fresh meal options. All menu items are complimentary in First Class and Main Cabin Select and are available for purchase in the Main Cabin.

“As California’s only hometown airline, we are inspired by our locale to provide fresh and healthy options for our guests,” said Virgin America Senior Vice President of People, In-Flight and Guest Services Frances Fiorillo. “California cuisine is as much a part of our DNA as technological innovation, and we’re proud to marry the two by delivering more fresh meal and snack options than any other domestic carrier — at any time throughout a flight via a touch of the seatback Red™ screens.”

Virgin America is the only U.S. airline to offer a “food button,” allowing guests the freedom and convenience to order whatever they want to eat or drink during a flight — either with a touch of the Red™ video touch-screen at every seat or through the handheld remote control in every armrest. Virgin America offers six meal options in the Main Cabin available for purchase via the Red™ Inflight Entertainment system, with a focus on locally-produced foods. With just a swipe of a credit card through the in-seat ordering system, guests can enjoy the following new menu selections on Virgin America flights.

Main Cabin & Main Cabin Select (between $7-$9.00 in Main Cabin, complimentary in Main Cabin Select):

Due to the popularity of these items, an expanded upscale cocktail menu is now available on all Virgin America flights. Virgin America will now offer shaken cocktails for the price of $8 in the Main Cabin and complimentary in Main Cabin Select and First Class.

The new cocktail bar selection includes a Cosmopolitan, a Mojito, and a Margarita — served ready-to-order by our in-flight team members. Virgin America continues to offer the popular KARMA, California Brut sparkling wine on all its flights for $10.

And to restore energy in-flight, Virgin America is now also offering Rockstar Energy Drink and Eboost Energy Tablets, both available for $3 in the Main Cabin.
