The Virgin America Status Match Offer (“Offer”) is open to new and existing members (“Member”) of Virgin America’s Elevate Frequent Flyer Program that wish to upgrade their status level in the Elevate program to a higher level equivalent to their current elite tier/status level (“Qualifying Status”) in another airline’s frequent flyer program (“Competitor Frequent Flyer Program”). This Offer is valid until 11.59pm PDT September 30, 2016. This Offer is subject to change without notice.
Qualifying Levels in Competitor Frequent Flyer Programs that are included in this Offer are as detailed at www.virginamerica.com/statusmatch.
To participate in this Offer, applicants must be enrolled in the Elevate Program prior to applying for matched status. Elevate members must email firstname.lastname@example.org including their current Elevate member account details plus proof of their Qualifying Status in a Competitor Frequent Flyer Program to request matched status in the Elevate program.
The member will be responsible for providing satisfactory proof of their Qualifying Status in a Competitor Loyalty Program when applying for this Offer. Virgin America will accept the following proof of Qualifying Status level in a Competitor Loyalty Program:
- a copy of your most recent mileage summary including your full name and current 2016 elite tier/status level, and/or
- a copy of your 2016 membership card that clearly identifies your full name and current elite tier/status level
All submitted materials must be legible and not manipulated in any way. Virgin America reserves the right to disqualify any applications where the accompanying proof of Qualifying Status in a Competitor Loyalty Program provided is not legible or appears to be artificially manipulated in any way. Approval of all status match applications received during this Offer will be granted at Virgin America’s sole discretion upon satisfactory review of members’ submitted proof of Qualifying Status in a Competitor Frequent Flyer Program. Members should allow 7-14 days business days for processing of application following receipt of request.
Upon application approval, the member’s Elevate account will be updated to Elevate Silver or Elevate Gold Status according to the Qualifying Status submitted. Through this Offer, members approved for matched status will receive matched status in the Elevate program for a period of 90 calendar days (“Challenge Period”).
Matched members will be eligible to download an Elevate Status Digital Card during the challenge period. Members will not receive the option to receive a physical membership card during the challenge period. Members may enjoy Elevate Status Benefits according to their matched Elevate Status level during the Challenge Period by providing their Elevate account number when booking flights or at check-in. The following restrictions will apply to Elevate Status Benefits during the Challenge Period:
- Matched members will not receive 25% off personal discount codes
- Matched members will receive one complimentary day pass to the Virgin America Loft at LAX. Matched members may purchase additional day passes for themselves or accompanying guests at reduced rates.
- Matched members may not have access to all reciprocal benefits on Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia that require the member to present their membership card
Matched members may qualify to retain their matched Elevate Status level after the end of the Challenge Period through the remainder of the 2017 Membership Benefit Year by meeting the following requirements (“Challenge Requirements”):
- To retain Elevate Gold Status, matched members must earn 12,000 Elevate Status Points during the Challenge Period, or 8,000 Status points if matched member applies for, and is approved for the Virgin America Visa Signature Card with $49 Annual Fee or the Virgin America Premium Visa Signature Card with $149 Annual Fee.
- To retain Elevate Silver Status, matched members must earn 5,000 Elevate Status Points during the Challenge Period, or 3,000 Status points if matched member applies for, and is approved for the Virgin America Visa Signature Card with $49 Annual Fee or the Virgin America Premium Visa Signature Card with $149 Annual Fee.
Elevate Members can earn status Points for their flights purchased with dollars from Virgin America upon completion of travel. Status Points will be awarded based on the published, purchased base fare paid (excluding taxes and mandatory fees) on your own individual eligible fares and other specified activities. Airport facility charges, customer and immigration fees, security fees, baggage fees, in-flight purchases and other fees and taxes are not eligible to earn status Points. The specific number of status Points that will be awarded for eligible flights, purchases and activities will be available on the Virgin America website. The definition of eligible activities and transactions, as well as the amount of status Points accrued for each may change over time. Some travel is not eligible for earning status Points. We reserve the right to determine which travel is eligible for earning status Points and to make modifications at any time. Unless otherwise specified, reward Points earned through other Elevate activities such as purchases through Elevate partners, reward points purchases or reward points transfer activities are not eligible to earn status points.
All qualifying status points earned during the Challenge Period will be considered to determine members’ qualification towards meeting the Challenge Requirements. Qualifying status points will be earned during the Challenge Period as detailed in the Elevate Member Guide posted at virginamerica.com. If a Matched member does not meet the Challenge Requirements, their account may be returned to a lower Elevate status level at the end of the Challenge Period, at Virgin America’s sole discretion.
All other Elevate program terms and conditions apply. The Elevate Program is offered by Virgin America, Inc. for Virgin America guests, and is subject to the terms and conditions posted at www.virginamerica.com. Membership in the Elevate Program, including the Elevate Benefits Program, is offered at the discretion of Virgin America. Participation as an Elevate Member is subject to any terms and conditions, rules, policies and procedures that Virgin America may at its discretion change at any time without notice.
Virgin America reserves the right to terminate the Elevate program or change the program terms, benefits, conditions of participation or points levels, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice.
