Due to inclement weather forecasted to impact the New York and Washington D.C. areas March 1, 2015, guests traveling to or from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) are encouraged to remain up-to-date on their flight status before leaving for the airport by checking here or by signing up for Virgin America Flight Alerts here.

Travel Waiver for New York and Washinton D.C. areas: Guests with confirmed flights to or from EWR, JFK, LGA, DCA or IAD on March 1, 2015, may change their travel dates by March 1, 2015, without paying change fees or the difference in fares for travel through March 5, 2015, and may cancel their itineraries without incurring cancellation fees. Guests can change to available flights March 2-5, 2015 to/from EWR, JFK, EWR, DCA or IAD and to/from the original destination and within the same cabin/class of service. Guests who wish to upgrade to available seats in Main Cabin Select or First Class may pay the difference in fare. Changes must be made prior to the originally scheduled departure time and original travel must have been booked on or before February 28, 2015. Guests may contact our contact center at 877.359.8474* (or 001.877.359.8474 from Mexico) to change or cancel their flights. Guests may also make these changes on the Manage Travel tab here.

Travel agents: No waiver code is required if changes/cancels/exchanges are made within the restrictions of the current policy.

New Location for San Diego Ticket Counter

Beginning February 11, 2015, the Virgin America ticketing and check-in counters and kiosks at San Diego International Airport will move from the East end of the Terminal 2 ticketing lobby to the West end. Curbside signs will be moved to reflect the change from February 10, 2015. 

Cancun Time Zone Change

As of February 1, 2015, Cancun will shift from Central Standard Time to Eastern Standard Time.  Virgin America flights from the West Coast to Cancun will depart at their previously scheduled time, but will arrive an hour later than originally scheduled due to the time zone change. Flights from Cancun to the West Coast will also be departing an hour later than originally scheduled.  If you have a confirmed flight to or from Cancun you will receive an email from the Virgin America guest service team confirming your upcoming flight times. As always, guests are encouraged to remain up-to-date on their flight status before leaving for the airport by checking here or by signing up for Virgin America Flight Alerts here.
